Random Wheel Spinner Free — Spin to Pick a Winner Online
What is a random wheel spinner?
A random wheel spinner is exactly what it sounds like: a visual wheel divided into coloured segments, each labelled with a name or option. You spin it, and wherever the pointer lands is your winner. It turns a simple random draw into a satisfying moment — perfect for live streams, classroom activities, or family game nights.
The problem is that most free wheel spinners online look the same: cluttered interfaces, aggressive ads, and — critically — pseudo-random results. The spin animation is often pre-calculated using Math.random(), a predictable function that could, in theory, be reverse-engineered.
Hasardio's wheel spinner is different. The winner is determined cryptographically before the animation begins — using crypto.getRandomValues() — and the wheel simply reveals the pre-computed result visually. No spin manipulation is possible.
How to use the Hasardio wheel spinner
- Go to [Hasardio Wheel](/tirage?tab=wheel) — no account required.
- Type or paste participant names (Enter or comma to add each one).
- Click **Lancer la roue** to spin.
- The wheel decelerates realistically over 6 seconds and lands on the winner.
- Copy the winner, relancer (spin again), or remove the winner and spin the remaining participants.
The wheel supports up to hundreds of participants. Segment colours are automatically generated from the Hasardio palette. Names adapt their font size based on segment count — readable whether you have 2 or 50 participants.
When to use a wheel spinner (vs. a list picker)
Both tools do the same job, but the wheel spinner excels in specific situations:
Live events — Spinning a wheel on stream or on a projector builds suspense. Viewers can watch the result unfold rather than seeing a name flash instantly.
Classroom games — Teachers use the wheel for reading order, question assignment, or team picks. The spinning animation keeps students engaged.
Game nights — Deciding who goes first, picking a challenge, or assigning roles. The wheel makes the randomness feel fair and fun simultaneously.
Regular draws with the same group — The "spin again without winner" feature removes the previous winner so you can keep spinning until everyone's had a turn.
For situations where you need speed or multiple simultaneous winners, the classic name picker is faster.
Cryptographic fairness explained
How the winner is chosen
When you press spin, Hasardio immediately calls crypto.getRandomValues() to generate a random 32-bit integer. This integer is mapped to a participant index using modulo arithmetic on a random salt to eliminate bias. The winning segment is determined before the wheel starts moving.
The animation is purely visual: the wheel rotates 7–12 full turns (also chosen randomly) and decelerates to land exactly on the pre-determined winner. No amount of clicking "spin" at the right moment can influence the result.
The verification hash
Every spin generates a djb2 hash derived from the winner's name and a millisecond timestamp. This hash appears in the "Preuve d'équité" (fairness proof) section below the result. It proves the result was generated at a specific moment and cannot be altered retroactively.

Use cases for a random wheel spinner
Content creators and streamers
Spin to pick a subscriber for a shoutout, decide the next game challenge, or run a live giveaway. The animated wheel creates a shareable moment. The SHA-256 hash proves to skeptical viewers that the result was fair.
Teachers and educators
Random wheel spinners are widely used in classrooms for cold-calling, vocabulary drills, group assignments, and game-based learning. Hasardio's wheel respects student privacy — names never leave the browser.
HR and team management
Pick who presents first, rotate meeting facilitators, or randomly assign mentors to mentees. The wheel makes randomness visible and inarguable — no one can claim bias when the result is literally displayed on a spinning wheel.
Decisions and tie-breakers
"Where should we eat tonight?" Load up the options, spin. "Who calls the client?" Spin. The wheel is the fastest way to resolve low-stakes decisions without anyone feeling singled out.
Frequently asked questions
Is the spin truly random?
Yes. The winner is determined by crypto.getRandomValues() before the animation starts. The wheel animation is only a visual reveal — it cannot be influenced by timing or interaction.
Can I spin again with the same participants?
Yes. Click "Relancer la roue" to spin the full list again. Or click "Relancer sans [winner]" to remove the last winner and continue with the remaining participants.
How many names can the wheel hold?
The wheel renders clearly up to around 50 names. Beyond that, font size automatically decreases to fit. The cryptographic draw still works correctly regardless of participant count.
Does the wheel work on mobile?
Yes. The canvas scales responsively to fill the available width. All interactions (tap to spin, tap to remove winner) work on touch screens.
Is there a desktop app?
No download needed. Hasardio is a web app that works in any modern browser. You can add it to your home screen via your browser's "Add to Home Screen" option for app-like access.
What's the difference between the wheel and the classic draw?
Same cryptographic backend, different interface. The wheel is visual and dramatic — great for live situations. The classic draw is faster and supports multiple simultaneous winners.
